WHY PRODUCE WATERLESS?

To understand the concept of waterless, it's important to first understand how beauty products are formulated.


Did you know that most skincare products such as cleansers or moisturisers can contain between 60-90% water? On the back of your products, you can check the ingredient list, commonly referred to as an INCI. Traditional products list ‘aqua’ or ‘eau’ (water) at the top. This hierarchy also indicates the highest ingredient quantities within that product. Water is usually added for texture or as a filler; ultimately, it’s cheaper for brands to produce. Unfortunately, this encourages the use of plastic packaging to hold the product and makes products heavy to transport.


Waterless is a positive start in addressing a huge environmental issue, the generation of carbon emissions. Ethosa only ships powder, no water.

WHY A SHOWER POWDER AND NOT A SOAP BAR?

Whilst beauty bars or soaps are becoming popular due to their sustainable credentials, they may not always be as nourishing for the skin as you think; soaps can have a pH of 9-10. This is very alkaline, which can disturb the natural skin flora leading to a feeling of dryness, tightness or dehydration.


As well as being waterless, which is actually less harsh on the skin, Ethosa Powder clever Shower Gel Formulations are pH-balanced. This is key to maintain balance and prevent dryness.

HOW LONG DOES 1 BOTTLE OF ETHOSA SHOWER GEL LAST?

We say that 1 shower gel bottle of 400ml equals 1 month of showers (= 30 showers). This of course depends on your showering habits.
